Has ne1 moved iPod adapter from center console 2 glovebox?
Right now, my xB 2006 has the ipod adapter where you plug in the ipod sync cable and then plug in your ipod in the stock location in the center console near my ebrake . (the factory stock location)
Anyways, after looking at an post here: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...highlight=ipod by ZanetGT, I got inspired to move my port from the center console to the glove box . (its a much safer place from envious eyes and wouldn't get in the way from my shifting..
has anyone done this and can give me some advice on how to do this?
thanks
wilson
*Shouldn't* be too hard.
The cable is long enough so just need to lift the center console and re-route the connector. And find a stock "filler plate" or aftermarket switch to fill the void.
My pod lives full time between the jack and the floor brace under the driver seat. Its out of the way and hidden well. Fairly easy to get to for updates, but wouldn't want to take it in/out it many times a day.
G/L!

be careful with leeaving the ipod in your car all the time. it might get damaged. i know because it happened to mine. the guys at the apple store said the heat damaged it. now i never leave it in the car and haven't had a problem since.
i left mine in my car over night the other nite whe nit got below freezeing and it acted funky until it warmed up. i would not leave them it in my car. i want to rout the cable to the back of the over and leave it there while im driving. a friend of mine has his in the side part of the glove box.
Wilson,
Thanks for the props. I agree with tankasan, I don't think you should have any problems relocating your iPod to the glove compartment. I had PLENTY of cable left over, I could have put it in the back seat if I wanted.
Good luck, post some pics when you're done!
