Default Headrest monitors

I am trying to put two headrest monitors in my box, you know for the kids. Went down to the local car stereo shop and they quoted me over $2000 for them. I thought that it was a little much for headrest. Am i wrong, and if i am could someone point me in the right direction?

I am putting headrest monitors in my xA, and ran into the same problem. so I went out bought some refurb clarion screens, pulled out my steak knife and started cutting. They have turned out real well. I will post some pics of it later for you.

they're probably using Myron and davis prefab headrests. You can pick up a set of 7" screens in headrests shipped for maybe $250 on ebay.

I haven't had good experiences with monitors on ebay. Do your research first. I have heard alot of people say a TFT is like any other TFT screen. I beg to differ.

I purchased monitors on ebay about a year ago and they work fine. I do suggest that you stay away from pyle. I installed them in another one of my vehicles and they only lasted about 8 months.

you could get a set of replacement headrests that drop in for less than 1400.00
or you could get a totally removable system for under 1000.00

I picked up 7" headrest monitors from mp3playerstore.com on an ebay auction for $220. I also purchased the small dvd player (fd-1) which is the same size as the (fd-7) but without the tv tuner. I got a fm modulator and video amplifier and a switch for the dash to turn on the fm modulator when a movie is running. Everything cost less than $400 and my friend and I installed it in a day.

I was a little afraid to order from mp3playerstore.com based on older posts about poor service. However, I received everything in a timely manner and I even had a problem with the dvd player which I sent back and it was replaced with a new one without any hassle.

I got a set of 5.8 inch clarion headrests off ebay for like 280 or something like that. Honestly its not hard to put them in ur self. I can help you out, the hardest part in my opinion was fishing the wires thru the seat..

hey dustin, I thought you were 'out of town' for a while...I'm looking for the same thing, and whoever finds it first should let the other know...

anyhow, raltiero, did the 7"ers fit in the stock xB headrests allright?

re: 'ebay has the best deals on monitors' - I've seen a ton of scams running on ebay for monitors (and navi but that's another thread) and it's hard to trust- could anyone who as had experience (good or bad) with ebay sellers, please list the seller's username. that would be most helpful.

I am still out of town... We are not due back until October hopefully sooner. Heather (my wife) went to drive in and they told her that it would be $2000 just for the headrest. But i will let you know if there is something that i find first.

I'm sorry that I didn't mention it in the first post the headrest monitors are built-in to replacement headrests for $220 for the pair. You just have to adjust the poles to line up with the car seat and then fish the wire down through the seat. I think that we unhooked the bottom part of the seat material and stuck an arm up then pulled the wire down.

Default Headrest Monitors

I purchased mine from ebay they are 5.6 in size the 7 " won't fit the front headrest without modification. I now have 4 monitors in mine and plan to install 2 more for a total of 6. It was $50 to $75 at a local sound shop in Cinti Oh to install

I have a 7" in the Radio, 2- 5.6 in the front headrest and a 12" flip down swivel in the rear between the rear seats for tailgating. and plan to put 2 more 5.6 in the rear headrest. also you can buy a 3 year warrenty from sellers that use square trade for under $10 I liked the look of the Lanzar I think the manufacturer is Pyramid Sound I hope this helps
