Default Help! dash electrical problem

I was trying to install some LED's for my oven light. I touched the two wires coming from the LED to the white plug to make sure it would work first and it did. So I tapped the wires with scotch loks so I wouldnt have to cut the wires. Now the LED doesnt work and the chime that goes off when my key in in the ignition with the door open quit working? I pulled the LED out of the scotch lok and just hooked the white harness back up to the factory light and it doesnt work now either...Help?

I'm not sure if it is the same circuit as the dome light?

The chime sound doesnt work if I leave the lights either. I guess I somehow messed up the chime thing?

it's the light that lights up the "oven" in the dash. I found out on the way to work that my radio and dome light do not work as well. I assume now that it is just a fuse, but I wont be able to tell until I get home. I just dont understand why it would do that

yeah.. it blew a fuse.. check them all..

If it was a dimming circuit, it would send unwanted feedback to the module that controls dimming, and fry it.. happened to me when tapping my dome light.
If it just straight up blew the fuse, then that circuit is currently at its limits, it was the hair that broke the camels back.. I know LED's are such a low draw, and shouldnt blow anything.. so I would make sure your are not shorted anywhere in the area of wiring that you were tinkering with.. it may have accidently shorted while tapping the lines, inbetween testing, and now the short is gone.. might actually all start working with just the fuse..Good Luck!!

I hope it's just a fuse and not a module because I'm sure that will be expensive

when my module went, all I lost was the dimming feature, you have a whole fused circuit out..
theres no way they all fried, so I have a feeling you'll be fine..

its a 10 amp acc fuse, everything that comes on when you put the car in the ACC setting on the ignition is gone, you just need a few 10 amp mini fuses

I was kinda worried at first because I couldnt find a fuse under the dash that was related to the problem but then I realized there are fuses under the hood as well. It was just the fuse and nothing more. I still dont know why it popped, but at least it's fixed. Thanks
