Help with gauge cluster
While installing my new Kenwood headunit I noticed that it had two illuminations and one dimmer, while the stock headunit only had oneillumination and one dimmer. So I asked my friend who works at stereo shop(and also owns a scion) which illumination to hookup. So i hooked the one he said, and it ended up being the wrong one, so when turned the ignition on to tested it out. I noticedthat the gauge lights were not on when i turned the lights on. (it burnt out the four leds that light up the speedometer). all the other lights work except the four for the speedometerand i know there is power because i tested the wires on the entire cluster with my multimeter.
So i need to know if it is hard to replace the leds, or can i get the gauge cluster from a junkyard or do I have buy a new one. So please can some one help me out because i am tired of driving home late at night from work with no speedometer lights.
I already checked the fuses and fixed them. But after taking the guage gluster apart and tested it I know that the fuses are blown. I just ordered the leds saturday but I am kind of nervous changing the leds because they are small. But i'm pretty good at soldering so i think i can do it. By the way if when i swap out the old leds to the new ones, do I have to change the resistors.

you shouldnt have to change the resistance unless you are using a different voltage LED. Well that is to say you might want to test the existing resistors to make sure that they are not blown out also.
