Plan on keeping the car for a long while.. basically untill its totally dead.. but.. the cig. lighter plug in looks terrible IMO... i had my detector hardwired in my 90 accord.. and it was great.. and very very clean.. im going for the sharp clean look.. bleh oh well..

move the wire up to the edge of the headliner, and push it in w/a blunt edge (credit cards work well), then (before is better than after ) remove your A-pillar, usually just pulls off, work the materal and it'll come off; unless you have airbags in the a-pillar, then have a certified alarm insaller do it.

from there, run the wire logically thru nooks and cranny's that wont interfere w/driving/electrical. i ran my wires to the cigarette lighter (i dont put load on it anyway) so the radar turns on w/the key in, and off w/the key off... that's how i did it in my xB... well. almost

Any other places to hard wire a Rader Detector too? Is the A Pillar in the middle, do you have to remove the black dash board?
