I was going to change out my factory speakers but i had trouble doing it. If someone could help me out on how to take the speakers out it would be helpful.

 

Use a drill on the rivets.

 

Drill out the rivets. Make speaker mounts. Mount speakers.

 

or use self tapping screws

 

Just drill out the rivet and replace them.. THats not so bad i didnt know exactly what needed to be done i didnt want to mess up the car. thanks

 

Alternately, you can dremel the inside of the speaker out. Then, you use the plastic ring to mount your speakers and avoid having to fabricate some mdf thingy.

I did this... be warned, the plastic you screw into isn't particularly deep. What looks like a solid ring with the speaker inside is actually hollow ;( So hit it with a lot of screws.

It's definitely convienient, and there's already a water guard in the back.
