Default Help with sub selection.

Ok guys.........so........I'm having trouble deciding on which subs to go with. If anyone has any personal knowledge or experience about either of these subs........please let me know. I want to go with either two 12" Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1D (dual voice coil) subs......or two 12" Kicker L7 Solobaric (dual voice coil) subs. I have a a Rockford Power 800a2 amp that tested at 950 watts. Obviously these speakers can both handle more power than what I have........but what do you think would be best paired with my amp? I like the infinity's because they are supposed to have the best SQ around.............but I also like the Kickers cause they are supposed to hit super hard.......plus they have more area than round subs, and they're simpler to mount. So......i'm just not sure. Opinions please. Thanks.

Well, I haven't heard the Infinity subs, but I have heard the L7's and they sound great. Very hard hitting bass. That is what I am going to get later this year. Also, the square shape fits into the xB styling very nice!

I own an L7 ... and it sounds mint. The sound quality is amazing, the sub hits hard, and can handle a lot of power.

Kicker L7 need small air space. Good for our xBs. So smaller box is key.

I heard them they hit hard.

I have 1 10" Kicker Comp VR. It hits hard on its own.

if your gunna bump it loud for everyone outside the car then go with kicker.

if you want clean sound for the inside of the car, infinity's are sick. i got 3 10s and they are just clean as hell but when you bump em, they are not nearly as loud as the kickers.

Thanks for the input guys. I was also thinkin about how the square subs would go well styling wise with the xB.

I'm thinkin about something like this maybe....it comes with the box and both 12" L7 subs for $350.......does that sound good?

Do you think 475 watts per sub (950 total) will be enough to push these sufficiently? Everyone seems to say they need "a lot" of power........though I'm not quite positive what "a lot" refers to. 300 watts? 700 watts? 1200 watts? :?

u have to check the power ratings on the subs.
u dont want to underpower/overpower the subs, u can damage them either way.

yeah ... where did you find that price ... dealer cost on a single 12" is 225 10" is 209 .. so 2 12's and a box is killer .... 475w per sub might just be enough ... I have a KX400.1 amp for my 10" L7 at 460 it works fine ... they can handle up to 1200w ...
