Default Help! What Kinetik battery fits in an xB

Thinking of getting a Kenitek battery to replace my OEM battery. OEM battery size is 9"L x 7" W x 7.5 H not including post. Did any body have problems putting in a Kinetik HC 1800 which is 10"L x 6.5"W x 8.2" H (8.8" with post).

Reason, I am asking because it is a special order item and can't be returned. Thanks for your help

I put in a Tsunami battery, the X151700. it is 13" (w) x 6 7/8" (d) x 7 11/16" (h) with posts. you have to have a short ram intake in order for this battery to work. I make a custome mounting bracket since the battery is so wide.

Thanks for replying . Could you answer these additional questions?
1. Why do you need a short ram intake for it to work? I have a regular AEM cold air intake. I'm at work + I haven't got a chance to look right now my car is at home , is it because of a clearance/size issue of the battery?

2. Did you have enough slack in the battery cables pos and neg to fit on the top battery posts?

3. I will be driving to the Orlando area 11/11 - leaving 11/25, but not with my Scion. You think you could make me up a mounting bracket for a nominal fee, if I can squeeze this sucka in. LOL.

**Does anybody else have a Kinetic battery in their Scion xB? suggestions please? Thanks

when you remove the stock airbox there is a huge gap between the motor and the battery. when you use a short ram intake that gap is still there. I didn't like the look having a big hole there so I used a big battery to fill the gap. the cold air intakes go where the stock airbox went so there is no gap, then you re limited to the size battery you can use.

as for slack, I had enough, barely. there is a little clamp that holds the battery positive wires in place that I had to cut so to give me more slack. the ground wires were not a problem since I made my own grounding kit.

as for the mounting plate all I did was I took a piece of metal, had 4 sides welded on that the battery would fit into, then just bolted it to the factory battery mount.

Thanks for the feed back on the Optima battery, but I want to put in a Kinetik battery it's smaller, lighter, more amps + the same price as a yellow top.

I am still looking for a reply to my question
Thanks

Default Kinetic battery info/ help

Do you think the HC1800 will fit which is 10" wide? It looks like I can squeeze it in+ did you have a problem putting on the battery cables because it is a higher in height + did you need to get taller battery j hooks to hold it down.
Thanks for your input

I wouldnt put anything wider in there than the hc2400. I'm not sure on the depth of it, but it was a tight fit and none of the hooks fit back on after, but the battery fit so tight, its not moving anywhere. I'm sure you could get longer j hooks if you wanted to still use them.

Thanks all you guys for your input. Well, I purchase the HC1800 yesterday, bought some longer 10" j hooks to hold the battery down and I just needed to release the positive battery cable from the bracket behind the battery to give me some more slack. It fits like a glove. I probably could have squeezed the larger Kinetics battery in, but I didn't take the measurements for that.

PS I have a AEM cold air intake on my xB, if this helps those looking to install this battery.
