Who put that in? I am concerned about quite a bit of it.
1. The ground is ____ poor. The seat rod is not only painted, but is not an adequate ground point to begin with. Ideally, as Winter stated, seat bolts will be your best spot for a ground using existing bolts. The surface will need to be prepared so that there is no paint, finish, or debris in the way of the ground ring making good contact with the chassis ground.
2. The RCAs really should be run completely opposite the power and ground connections.
3. The ring terminal used for ground, and the fusible link used at the battery seem a bit cheap and weak. A better ring terminal will only make things flow smoother, and a crappy fusible link can act as a constrictor for power. The fusible link looks like it is a fairly cheap crimp-on style link, which isn't the best idea for a power connection since it may be more resistant than the actual power cable itself. Though this may not directly induce noise, it does prevent the system from running optimally.
...too bad you're out in CA. I'd be glad to fix it for you if you were close by.

also, something i've been thinking about doing my self, looking for a grease like applieable electric conductent. kinda like Thermal compound on a Computer process's heatsink. instead of helping transfer heat from the processer to heatsink, i was thinking for a optimum ground from cable to grounding point, something that completely mimumized any flaws of none touching surfaces.

it's an idea but i havn't really looked into it but it would give you an even more secure ground.

Fan-freaking-tastic I went to this place because it was a friends uncles stereo car shop. I did not think much of it, I assumed he would take care of me, ya know do a good job make it all nice. Now I will probably have to spend more money than I wanted to. This is my first time ever "Upgrading" this experience is not going well.
