Default HOW DO I BYPASS THE PREAMP????

someone said i have to bypass the preamp to install my in dash...how? im getting all visual and no audio!!!

I think you need to let us know what you are installing.

Pre-amp normally = and Rca connection.

No Scion has a factory amp that im aware of.

the pre-amp is integrated into the OEM HU, can't be bypassed without replacing the HU, which would be recommended anyways.

We need more information... What equipment do you have hooked up?? What are you trying to hook up??

there are no pre amps in tC's just install your new radio and forget about it.

its Clarion's VRX755VD....im getting absolutely no audio...i plug up the stock stereo...audio....i have no idea wahts goin on. we hooked it up n a friends truck n it worked...

That's why I always recommend having a pro do the install, unless one is knowledgeable and experienced with *correct* installations.

It is amazing some of the installs I've seen.

Of course not even all the "professional" installers understand how to do things right. (I've even seen a "pro" here on SL recommend just twisting wires together and covering them with electrical tape to make good connections... *sigh* )

^^ such a disgusting thing to do to a car! I have seen a ton of things like this... Its like taking a crap and not whiping to be quite blunt about it Wires should be soldered and heat shrink covered. Twisted wires are not only weak physical connections but also allow oxidation to occur between strands. I have seen the most of this type of wiring from dealerships installing options... it is scary!

As for your audio issue, it should work if you wire it up to the stock wiring. I would start checking wiring setup.
