Default How do I Install Factory XB Leds?

I've searched these forums high and low, but to no avail. Every time someone asks about the factory LED's, the conversation usually turns to, "Just get 'em from Oznium".

Someone bought me the factory LED kit as a gift. You know, the one from TRDSparks with two underdash tubes and two cupholder LED's.

How the hell do I install it? Is there any technicl article or how-to ANYWHERE on the damn internet? I"m coimg up short, and I need help!!!

Thanks...

I think if you follow the DIY tech article on the cathodes, you'll be ok as far as wiring them up.
The factory drills two holes under each side of the dash (which I DO NOT like, no need to drill with cathodes, just double sided tape) and they zip tie the clear tubes. The LED is pointing through the center of the tube, so you would want to mount the LED accordingly...
I would highly recomend just spending the extra $6.50 to get a set of 12" cathodes or the Meteor LED kit for $12 from oznium. You can use the factory LED's in the cupholders. Mounting those are in the tech article.

The factory LED tube is illuminated by one LED in each tube. And its not very bright.
If you plan on going with blue, I would suggest getting the LED meteor kit to match the LED's in the cupholder. The Cathode blue doesnt match exactly, but its very close. So if your not a picky person go with the cathodes.
I think you will regret spending the time installing the factory setup and drilling holes into the dash.

Just my two cents.
I'll find the tech article and post a link for you

Any ideas on how they're wired into the factory system? Do I need to tap into existing wiring, is it plug and play, etc? I can mount them, I just need to know if I'm cutting any wires - I'd prefer not to.

No need to cut factory wires, but you need to tap into some existing ones, or get an "add a circuit" and plug it into the fuse box. You will need a switch, 16-18 guage wire, wire splitters.. its in the tech.
When I went to doing mine, I printed out the tech and studied it until it made sense to me. And once you start taking stuff apart, it starts making even more sense.

What kind of interior lighting do you have in your tc's? Did you do some accent lighting under the dash and seats?

for now.. my rear dome light is powered by an ICELED GEM that projects over 2 million colors and sychronizes with my underbody kit... as well as a Laylight system for my a-pillars and footwells. (system controlled by a dimmer) and are bright considering the footwells are merely 3 smt leds.

i'm concentrating more on other people's cars right now and haven't had much time to light up my car... but they'll be more added eventually.
