long ago and far away i posted a similar question. And she actually bought one of those keychains. As long as the clothes your wearing are washed/dryed with fabric softener and you actually use the keychain youll be okay. she still gets shocked occasionally but its very few and far between.

Yep happens to me all the time. I find if I rub my hand against the interior plastic before I get out, no shock. Otherwise,
i get quite a zap.
Had it in every Japanese car I've ever had, but my wifes American Car (MERCURY COUGAR) never does it to me no matter how hard i try!

Hey! You might be on to something! I think 1 zap= 1 brain cell killed. Hmmmmmmm............someone do some testing/research and maybe we can start up a class-action lawsuit.
I am very relieved to hear that this is a common problem. I thought that I had done something while farting around with my wringing. I even went crazy with my soldering iron and extended ground wires of my gauges to spec frame ground points. Probably not a bad idea, but hearing this it was probably totally unnecessary.
your right about the Hiroshima! LOL!! Back when we were kids, when we'd drink water out of our squirt guns my dad told me not to do that cuz they ____ed in them before they sent them to the states..
