How does this sound system sound to you? :P
Hey everyone, well I changed out my headunit to a Pioneer PREMIER flipdown headunit the one with like dolphins and shizit, and i change dout my stock speakers to the Boston dual with tweeter combo ones, all 4.. the head unit was about $350.00 and the speakers all together were $800.00 pretty expensive.. and I am thinking about getting the Rockford Fosgate P110S4 Punch Stage 1 10" 4-ohm subwoofer... 2 of them, and I am building a "Underseat" storage for them.. but now this, I dont have ANY IDEA what type of AMP to get.. for this all.. Im thinking of building a custom amp rack also to go in the hatch area... so yeah, help me out, im a total NEWB to all this, someone gave me a link to a site that tells all the info on "OHM" and all that stuff, but i have NO IDEA what there talking about .. lol, anywho, please help me out once again...

I used to have it in my fiero, with a .3 sealed enclosure. It his OK for an 8". IF you are limiterd on space, I would suggest the Image Dynamics ID8v3 D4. it is an 8" dual voice coil sub, and I couldn't ask for more form it. Here is a link to my build thread on it for my Fiero. When I do get my scion, I will be using an Image Dynamics sub, personaly this is the best sub I have ever heard for clearity. http://www.fiero.nl/forum/Archives/A...-1-051244.html |
Problem: Is the amp capable of running 2-ohm mono? It lists as 4-ohm bridged stable, but those two woofers wired parallel is going to give you a 2-ohm load, not 4.
yep ^^^
options get dvc subs with that amp and run them in series or get 8 ohm subs actually your package doesn't seem matched well based on known info |
LoL.. oh, well can someone help me out? Like help me look for a system for $750.00 (Subs, amp) stuff like that, just mainly 2 subs and an amp, or maybe even 3subs.. I think the more the merrier (And louder) right? lol.. anyway help me out, If I cant find anything for under the seat, ill just get something for my hatch like everyone else.. I guess
well I have 2 8's under my seats and 2 12's in the back.... you can do just 2 8's under the seats and do an amp in the rear hidden cargo area
I can recomend someone to help with the under the seat boxes....he built mine |
I'd suggest waiting untill the middle of October and getting 2 of Elemental Designs SQ10's... it's a 10" woofer that's only 3" deep and only requires .3-.5cuft sealed.... put one under each seat and put a ED Nine.2x (600watts) on the pair and you'll have an awesome substage!!!
not to mention, you get a great discount for being a Scionlife member... here are the forum prices: CLICK HERE also, Elemental Designs has a great forum with LOTS of stereo information and help... Here's the address www.icixsound.com |
I saw those they look nice.... I am curios of the sensitivity of it
If I'm not mistaken, I believe it's around 87dB
ok hmm I was hoping for higher but more cone area over 8's is a good thing
well, when you can push 300-500 watts though a single one... that's gotta tell you somethin... I'm not saying everyone should put 500 watts to one, but if you know what you're doing, it's very possible..
yeah but then you have power compression and use way more power then necessary
Thanks Sci_Tc_Guy.. that helped alot and those subs are nice, but Sciond, are you saying that i will be using WAYY more power to my ride if i use these? or sumthin.. and if so, if i do decide to get these.. what would i need so I can have alot of power to power that "High-powered" compression thing?
2 SQ10 SVC 2ohm subs and an Elemental Designs Nine.2x. Wire the subs in series for a 4ohm mono load and you'll get around 300 per sub which would be perfect and would pound pretty dang good.... not to mention sound excellent
All I am saying is when you deal with drivers and you have these ones that can handle a lot power you have something called power compression which means simply stated you will need a lot of baseline power to move those drivers. You can do the same with less power with drivers that do not need as much baseline power when dealing with a basic system. One thing to pay attention to is sensitivity which let you know the effeciency of the driver and try to match all them as closely as possible
