How should i set the gain?
I have a brutus bx1500d mono amp which i'll be running at bridged 2 ohms for 1000 watts rms, and that will be powering an ID MAX 12" sub (1000watts reccomended)... My question is how do i know how to set the gain? this is my first time tuning an amp as my last install was paid for. Thanks a lot for replies..

Well if you’re doing it yourself try this, set all your settings to zero on your cd deck meaning no +3 on bass etc etc. turn the subs off and turn your stereo as loud as it will go before it starts to clap/distort. With that done turn on the subs and adjust the gain till the subs start to distort aswell.

better yet I am assuming that you only have an amp for your subs and you arent runnin midbass channels but if this is the case set your levels at bass in the negative not too far maybe like 2 steps below zero. . . .treble at about positive 3 and set your amp up with no bass boost on or anything like that and put the radio at your normal listening volume then set the bass to where you like it making sure its without distortion. . . . then you should be ok but probably your best best is later on down the line getting an eqaulizer and runnin high mid low.. . . .sound quality will be excellant then. . . .
Hope this helps
