Ok, I am starting to get involved in doing some fiberglass work. My question is this, do you all make your whole enclosure out of fiberglass or is it just a top shroud? Basically I am just trying to see if I should make a box out of MDF without a top, and then mount my fiberglass piece over it, or if the fiberglass is dense enough to be used as an enclosure....I have never done it before, so any info would help..ALso if anyone has any pics of a box in progress with the different steps, that would help too. Thanks alot, sorry about the novel...

 

Use MDF for anything you can, use fiberglass for complex curves and shapes... Here is an example of my enclosure.. The sides are MDF but the top and bottom consists of mostly fiberglass.. Fiberglassing the floor helps you maximize the area for air space.
