i want to hook up my ipod on my 2004 xb with minimal cost. from searching i see that there are a few possibilities.

1. aftermarket cable (peripheral, usa spec) - $150.00
2. buy aftermarket head unit that comes with ipod cable - $150 - $200

i was gonna go with the peripheral as many here have done but the cost is the price of a new ipod or a new aftermarket unit

can i buy the oem cable from the dealer and will it work with my head unit?
i have the standard single disc unit.
