Ideas of where to mount amp / amplfier?? Stealth install!
I'm tired of looking through useless threads from a search result.
I'm trying to get ideas of where to mount a amp. I was thinking of mounting the amp to the bottom of the drivers seat and install a cooling fan as well. That way I wouldn't have to worry about anyone putting their dirty shoes on my equipment.
My second option is probably the rear cargo space to the right of the spare tire. I've seen a few pics of this kind of install.
I want the amp out of the way!
Thanks for any ideas

Under the seat would be a nice spot. I personally don't like it there but the reason I say it is a nice spot is because that is where the airconditioning vents shoots out so keeping it cool shouldn't be a problem at all.

Location,location,location....
I had my 4ch plus a 3-way crossover and a 1/2 farad cap mounted in the well next to the spare tire under the cover. my enclosures are on top but mounted to hinges so that i can get to the spare if I have to.
with my tints you cant really see inside the enclosures are covered in black tweed.

RCA's
Do not go to a stereo shop to get your converter they will rob you. Instead goto Walmart they sell a Scoche which has been in business for like ever or at least as far as I could remember it also comes with very simple drawn out instructions so you could have 4-ch RCA's it sells for 17.95 and most places only sell a 2-ch one 24.95 trust me walmart was just by luck i went everywhere looking for one but apparently so was everybody else that weekend.
and about the fan thing and raising the floor in the xb the rear is raised already so I had the storage box removed and everything fit right under and honestly living in Florida we don't spend to much time in the car and when we do the a/c is always on so heat has not been an issue in fact most of the time you connect a fan it will create a whinning noise thru your speakers so I would reconsider.
I hope this helps.

I sort of have a stealth install.
Audioformz enclosure w/ 10 inch Arc Audio woofer in the rear storage area, one 10 inch Arc Audio sub under each front seat built in custom enclosures, and the amps are where the spare tire used to go. I also have fibreglass kick panels and Ground Zero co-axials where the stock front door speakers were. All of this was performed by Chris Foster of Rockstar Customs. It nice, its clean, and its stealthy. I won't win any Db drag offs but that's not what I wanted. I just wanted something clean sounding.
The kids still have enuff room to fill it up w/ the their toys and junk.

I feel like a fool, but it's good to know you can learn something new about your car from time to time.
