Default installation depth for fron speakers

does anyone know if i can mount a 3" deep speakers in front of the tC stock speaker panels? the specs of the speaker that i want to put says that it requires a mounting depth of 3". i do not want to buy the speakers not unless i know it would fit... it is a dls r6a.

........you can't re-use the factory mounting brackets, so you will have to fabricate a bracket out of some MDF and that will give you enough clearance.....but from the actual door where the speaker would sit...i think you have 3.3" to work with....

thanks. uhmmm, i dont think i have the time and tools to fabricate my own.. do u know a site where i could buy it from? i read in the past that there was somebody selling it here in the forum... btw, y cant i use the stock moutning?

the stock speakers in the front are molded to the bracket...and the bracket is riveted into the door.....it is possible to re-use them...but not recommended.....it might take you 20 minutes with a jigsaw and drill to make some.....
