Default installed Pioneer DEH-P80MP

The AM stations are comming in very week or cant get them at all? help what can be causing this....the fm station are ok

are there any after market antenna's or possibly power antenna available for the box.......

there are plenty of aftermarket antennas. but none that i like...you could always get the a-pilar one like JDM's

Aftermarket radio almost never work good for AM. I install Pioneer and Alpine all day and I always tell customers that they are going to get a poorer quality for AM reception.

I dont know whay it is, I am sure it has to do with the fact that aftermarket companies that AM is not as important as XM or Fm or better cd/mp3 quality.

Does the xb have 2 antenas 1 am and 1 fm cause I noticed that there is a module on each side of the back of the xb???????

thats basically true...there is an antenna on each rear window...

My Bluapunkt could get AM stations 100's of miles a way. I miss that old thing. My new HU can't get crap, but I still have yet to double check the power ant lead is hooked up.

most likly not since the xb does not look to have a convetional power ant. it does need it hooked up though.

do you think one of the antenas from a (long Range remote starter) would work as a replacement antenna???????

I have an Alpine headunit and I get good AM reception ... I get the 5 stations I need to get and I get them clear .... I didn't use any aftermarket antennas ...
