Hey everyone! I tried searching for ways to do an install myself for my AVN 5435 system but came up with Nada. Anyways, enough about that, I got a good deal on one of these Nav. Systems in Ca cuz THe Good GUys is going out of business. However I got one of the last display models (yea I know! ) ANd it turns out they were missing the DVD MAP disc and I was wondering does anyone know where I can get one for cheap? Can someone who has an AVN Map disc just copy it or something? I really don't feel like Shelling out 100-200+ just for a DVD Map DIsc.

Oh yea, I need help for the install. I have searched and I came across the tech section to take the inside apart BUT the problem with the the system when I put the silver shell thing back on, the scion lid won't open or close....if that makes sense. If anyone can really really help me, I would really appreciate it! THanks!

as for mounting it and being able to close the door, dont use the stock holes. Just grind down the "nipples" on the insides of the brackets, and drill out the forward 2 (the ones above each other) and use those for drill holes. problem solved.

i have the cd 5435......and I d/l the maps from eclipse for free.....but im guessing yours is different being a AVN.

 

so if you have one of these double din Nav/Tv/DVD/CD/Mp3/HIV/SID/BET/MTV players I can still keep the radio cover door? If this is true, I will love you guys for ever.

 

The map DVD can be copied, I made a copy for myself so I wouldn't have to use the original in the car.

 

yes if its a double din unit you can still keep the radio cover fully functional.

 

you downloaded the maps from ecipse? I have the AVN 5435 isn't that the same? As long as I can get the map disc, Ill be happy cuz as of rite now, the player won't work until I get my hands on the map disc.

 

oh j/k...I just noticed the CD part...nvm...damn that sucks I can't download...
