Default just got some mtx subwoofers

so i was over by hhgregg the other week and decided to walk in and just check out the store, since i havent been in there in a long time.

right as i walk in i see some mtx sledgehammer subs in the mtx box and notice a red tag on them.. so i walk over just being curious, and they are marked 60 percent off. they are only 120 now. so of course i had to buy them. then i look over and see a mtx thunder amplifier thats 1200 watt, also with a red tag.. go look at it.. only 160, it was marked 35 percent off.. so i got it also.. so i left the store with 550 dollars worth of equipment for 270.

i got them installed at freemans.

they sound great.. with rock music, they hit hard and sound very punchy.
and with any kind of rap they just go insane.. they get real low and hit extremely hard.. so hard that you cant see straight. and it flexes every panel on the outside of my car.. cell phones can bounce off of the roof.

over all.. ive spent a lot more than this on kenwood systems, and have heard some jl systems that cost a lot more, and these things sound much better and do not distort.. i even cut it up to the point of my eyes not being able to focus.. and popped the hatch to see what they were doing and they could have been hitting way harder than that. i was impressed.

by front stage.. do you mean head unit? if so.. i have a kenwood headunit im not sure of the model.. it was 255 about eight months ago. it has a usb cord for ipods or flash drives. i just use a one gig flash drive for mine.. it was given to me by a friend for no charge. and even hooks to my keychain. pretty nifty if i do say so myself lol.

He means the sound stage, not the central head unit. What are you going to put in for the front speakers and how are you going to amp them to keep up with the subs?

An additional suggestion I have regarding this... get a good set of components for the front and bi-amp the set instead of running output to the back speakers. With a bi-amped setup, you can achieve a much more dialed in sound stage. I mean, you don't go to a concert and face your back to the music do you?
