Default Just installed my RS3 under seat sub box

After spending a couple weeks driving around with my old sub box in the back cargo area, and based on the advice I saw on here I bought one of the under seat sub boxes from Elegonics, got it yesterday and installed it this AM
Man what a difference! This is definately the way to go
I went for the driver side one figured it was easier to put the jack in the cargo bay rather than try to move the XM reciever on the passenger side

Plus it turned my drivers seat into a custom massage chair, LOL who needs lumbar support when you can get a massage going down the road

Though I did warn my wife that if I wake up in the middle of the night and find her sitting in my box with the stereo pumpin I will know what she is really doing, LOLOLOL

I highly recommend the under seat sub box if your only running 1 sub as I do

Thanks for the great advice learned from this site

Ive been looking at this option. Does it hit alot harder than having it in the back cargo space?

I think so, it will take a couple days of driving around for me to completley decide but from all indications from the short time Ive spent with it, Id say yes
Plus with the cargo space you are dealing with alot of Ambient airspace above it, as well as the rear speakers crossing over and competeing with the signal.
Im just happy to have my cargo space back so I dont have to put the groceries in the back seats anymore

I will do that when I get it done, still wanna build an amp rack for the cargo area to sit on the cargo floor, right now my amps are on the back of the rear seats
Its a clean install, but putting the seats down you have two lumps right there

What I want to know is....by having it under the seat how is it driving? Does your seat vibrate profusely or is it just like any other sub in a car where the whole car vibrates and isnt that bad. Just curious because this may be an option for my girl as well since her whole trunk area is useless from me putting 1 12" sub in there.

Ok I just ran out an took a couple photos of what I got so far

Id say its just like any other sub,
The seat does not vibrate profuseley since the sub faces down so the energy is facing down and absorbs into the under carpet insulation.
The seat feels like a "Vibrating Massage Chair" at most, I would compare it to a "buzz"
But I dont feel a difference from when I had it in the back, the seat still buzzed a little when it was kickin

I did have to take the gain down a bit since it sounds so much fuller now

I definately get more out of the back speaks since the sub is out and it sounds more balanced and "full" to me, I may run up and pick up a Db meter to see what Im getting, but I can tell you on a CD I take the volume up to 20 and it kicks big time
I was a pro musician back in the late 80s playing through 1000s of watts of Marshall Amplifers and 1000s of watts of pro PA equipment and this thing, slays me for the sound & quality

Hey how do I lad an image on here, help![/img]

Use the at the end of the website link and it will work

By the way thanks for the info!
