i have the kenwood 7015 w/nav. works great, dvd plays while car is running. not sure if the unit is set that way or if the installers tweek it. had my whole system done by Sound Advice of Mission Viejo. 949-364-6464 ask for Josh or Rudy. they work on a lot of scions there.

mine also plays, even tonight when i was coming home from work. but it also helps if your installer sets it up for you the right way too.

it depends on your installer ... all dvd units have setup from factory to where your are NOT suppose to be able to do that because its illegal. As for the kenwood i myself requested to my installer to rewire it so i can play dvds while in motion. Hes like yeah i was gonna go do it but its illegal. I was like ok

From what I understand, all in-dash dvd players are set up so that you can't play them while driving. However, you can take the wire (not sure which one it is) that stops you from using the dvd while driving, and ground that wire somewhere in your car.

I don't have a kenwood but all in-dash has that safety but a switch was installed on mine to bypass that feature. The switch is kool for me bkoz if I see a cop, I simply hit the switch with no delay and no more movie on screen...once cop is gone, I flip the switch again and it's on!

Some of the newer screens coming out cannont be bypassed though the pioneers, avic-n2 and avic-d2 i know for a fact cannot be, it is connected with the nav. the days of just having to ground out the green wire are quickly coming to an end.

i guess i will have to keep mine instead of upgrading my headunit. and the ddx 7015 has a little button labeled "f" if you tap it, the screen mode changes from movie to a button filled screen.

Not true you can watch a video while you drive, I am watching a video right now while speeding through a red light and talking on my cell phone
