I have the same kit. you either create playlists in i tunes or unplug the ipod from the adapter and make your selection hit play and plug it back in. I use shuffle 99% of the time. I was also a bit dissappointed too, but I have close to 4000 songs in my glove box and it beats using a fm adapter.
Yep, I have the Alpine interface, and while I can browse artists, albums, and playlists, it takes forever, and I don't have the patience to go through 5000 + songs. I usually create playlists or I unplug my iPod, select what I want, then plug it back in. I'm considering getting a Nano, so I can just put like 300 songs on there, and use the shuffle feature. I wish you could make playlists and use the shuffle feature, just in that playlist!
Yeah i tried this iTrip thing... the sound quality is nothing compared to Kenwood coz of the FM interfering frequencies and static... i admit it the sound quality is awesome... even i almost live in my songs with the accurate sound output with the DSP featured option... but what i can SAY perfection is only for god
Cheers all

Cheers all
I talked with a kenwood rep a while back and they are trying to perfect the ipod adapter so it will do everything as quickly and as easy as the ipod does, he said possibly through the remote or with a click wheel of some sort of the face of the deck, and installing the parts into the deck is not the problem, it is getting the software to work with the deck, the ipod, the the ipod interface, and the fact that some ipods run on a windows format and some run on a mac format is another issue. so, it will only be a matter of time.
