Not much to the story....I thought something like this would look cool... but i'll let you other scion lovers decide.









I'm still waiting for the rest of the LEDs... there's sixty on each plastic vent piece.
They're wired in series/parallel with about 15 ...15ohm resistors.
I still need to use the glue gun to seal them up so water doesnt short'em out.
When im finished with the second I'll post pics with them on my tC.
Let me know what you think.

I got them off ebay ...something like 100 for 25 bucks! You cant go wrong when you buy in bulk

prolly not...they do not have the reflective housing to direct the light where you need it...

Yep I believe your right....I did this mod mostly for looks..but we'll see...maybe they do?!
I will have the other one done in a week I just need the rest of the LEDs i had to order another hundred more

very cool idea. i might do the same. i buy my LEDs from 'cwithk' from ebay and they're cheap and shipped free.

How well does it light up a room? If you direct it to a wall a few feet away in a dark room, is it like a beam of light? Can you take pics of it?

I don't mean to thread/idea crap, but fog lights are suppose to light up the road through fog. Seems ricey to me, sorry

 

cool mod.....now you gotta make a housing for the fogs so it prevents it from getting the LEDS and resistors getting wet or broken.

Cool modification, but it's not likely to give you any significant amount of extra light. LEDs have nothing on incandescents and halogens when it comes to brightness.

 

how does that black piece come out by the way? do you need to remove the bumper to get it out?
