Default Lighted JDM bB Center Console - Updated w/ pic's

Greetings all,

While here in Japan, I picked up the Toyota bB center console that lights up with the bB logo and cup holders. It's a awesome piece. Just wondering if anyone has this piece and if it fits our xB? The bB logo and cup trays turn 7 different colors and looks as it plugs into a socket. To me, it looks as it only needs a + & ~ to light up. I got a great price of $80.00 for it. Retails for $130.00 in Japan.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

i dont think it fits because i think the center console HAS cupholders
where as we have ours by our shifter..

as for the colors + lightup, u can just use a relay and power it to the parking lights..
so it'll only turn on when the instrument lighting is on.. or what not..

Because the bB has a column shifter right?

Is it true that the bBs' only come in autos?

The only new BB i can get is automatic only, 2WD or 4WD. Then there's the cheap version with the 1.3L. 4WD models run about $17,800.

Hey Ron,

I've got the part your talking about. I"ve been trying to get it to fit. No luck yet. I also got the optional lighting kit for it. If you want to get together and try to figure out how to get them to fit let me know.

Hope your having a good time over there.

Hey Brad,

Thanks for the information.

I've just got home from Japan and suffering from jetlag. It'll be the first thing I'll do tomorrow morning. I'm going to get that thing in there if it takes me all week.

Will keep you posted.

Ron and Brad,

I havn't seen this peice up close, but I would love to mess around with it to see what it take to make it fit. I almost always have the dash apart so I will ba able to give it a full look to see what it takes, and if anything need to be modified.

Jason,

Edwin and I worked on it for a while the other day. It will take a LOT of cutting to get it to fit. If you want we can try to get together over the weekend. Edwin was thinking about trying to do something. If your going up to the valley for coffee Sun morning I can meet you there.

Hey Brad,

Took a look at what it takes.

I don't think it's that bad of a job. I just don't know if cutting the back plate in the dash will be deep enough for the cup holders? I'll be buying the JDM front panel so it should pop right in (I hope)

Have you tried lighting the LED's? I breifly tried but could not get them to work? Is there a relay required? Got the lighter to work but as of now, no lights. An easy mod to do if the lights do not work. Can replace with a StreetGlow type lamp.

Will keep everyone posted.

cool, I don't see why you could not just "shave" off the card holder.
