Default locking glove box

Hello.

so I've seen the DIY air-filter install, and obviously taking the door off the glove box isnt that hard. anyone seen a replacement glove box door that locks? maybe just bolt the latch to the inside?

Suggestions?

Thanks.

Default I'd like to know too

Hey guys,

I would figure a lot of folks would like one of these. I live in the city and I'd like to have a lockable glove box in case I want to leave my iPod or my digi cam in there for a few hours.

I looked around the net. I have seen some heavy duty replacement stuff, but not for an xB. Does Toyota make anything special for their convertables? Any ideas, thoughts?

Check out this link. I'd love something like this for my xB!

Default Lock?

I suppose I could drop a lock in the existing glove box, but it's kind of flimsy. I figure if I did that, someone could easily rip it open, regardless of the lock. It would be better than nothing.

I understand this type of thing isn't a concern to most folks. Since I live in the city and I've had several cars vandalized over the years, I'm extra cautious. I thought a few others would have similar concerns, but perhaps I can just get used to carrying a backpack everyplace and throw whatever valuables(digi cam, iPod, etc.) in there.

Looking at those links though, it's apparent that this is a concern to off roaders and convertible owners. It would be nice to have the option of getting on for my xB.

Peace,
DC

why not mount a box under the passenger seat that locks? you could bolt it to the seat brackets and have a drawer/door that opens, alot of vans nowadays have them
