Default Make RS3.0 Alarm Chirp?

I believe I read in the alarm manual that the alarm can chirp when set/unset. However, I did not see instructions on how to enable this feature. Does anyone know how to do this?

Also, is it possible to replace a module for the light switch so that the lights will turn off when the key is turned off? Like on the tC?

Default doesn't look possible

I looked through the manual again. it says for vehicles "equipped with a buzzer" it will sound when the alarm is set.

I asked my dealer and he made a big deal about how crooks these days don't need to hear the sound of the alarm that they see the red light blinking and they know it's a good alarm... what a jackass... i don't want to make sure crooks can hear my alarm being set... i want to be able to hear my alarm being set. duh!

I believe the xB does not have this feature. Its only for Scion Security equiped vehicles.

Has anyone actually found the security box under the dash. I'm thinking it connects to the fuse box under there and running a horn off the harness shouldn't be difficult. Basically you would need to find the security harness and tap into 1 of the wires that supplies 12volts to the lights when the arm is pressed. As long as you tap before the fusebox you should be good.

Scion Security has no beep/chirp or anything. At least for the tC, that's the case. And there's no way to enable it on the tC without modification.

I know the Scion Security on my xA chrips.

It's actually quite annoying sometimes, but it does come in handy.

One thing to note is that many dealers have offered a security package that is NOT the "scion security" package. This has been confused quite often on the tC with people thinking they have the SS system and saying that it chirps. Often it was an aftermarket system installed at the time of sale - some dealers offer other systems and call them the SS system.

There is a way to turn the xA chirp off and the xB chirp on. Doing a quick search I believe this might help...https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ht=alarm+chirp

I believe the 3.0 system is different from the xa system. Especially since it has the intrusion alert. Plus you must have the buzzer under the hood to be able to use it. I don't think there is 1 there.

Anybody care to try that buzzer install on the 3.0 to try to get it to chirp?
