making a 75% mdf and 25% fiberglass box...have one question.

Ok. above is a crappy diagram of basically what I'm working with....
The figure above is crafted out of 3/4 MDF and the end is left exposed and I want to fiberglass this area since it's curved. This will utilize the remaining tire well and get me to the 1.00 - 1.25 cuft range where I need to be. Plus I won't have to raise the floor for my single 12...
My question is this....
I should be ok fiberglassing that open area right? as long as it's thick and done right? This will be my first fiberglass project....I was gonna do the whole thing fiberglass but wanna take "baby steps" and work my way up to bigger ideas.
the second piece in the pic is the new floor that will be cut....it's purpose is simple...
the sub will be recessed in the floor so if I put something in there, I don't have to worry about it.
Thanks guys!!!
also....
I've done an absolute TON of research on the net/SL and learned a lot about fiberglass.
Another ? I have is will the fiber glass "stick" to the MDF with just the resin/hardner mix or do I need to let it cure and then drill screws in afterwards?

the top drawing is the complete enclosure....It will be inside the tire well.
and the top of it will be flush with the tops of the styrofoam compartments....
then the top sheet will sit nicely on top of the styrofoam comps and the enclosure...
I hope that clarifies.
The glass will be to make the walls of the box that are going to be curved...since you really can't curve MDF...I don't think.

Looks like he used Sketch Up. It's an easy to use 3-D program, you can get a free trial at thier website.

Mostly use for conceptual architectural drafting, but it's got a really nice interface and I use it for all sorts of things.

I love it....I use it for all my box concepts...and there are many

Skizzle, So, what you said is basically what I have there? The lifted portion would be flat with the styrofoam, I didn't add sides to it so that it'd be easier to visualize.
If I'm thinking correctly, you bascially will have the bottom/top of the wheel well made in MDF, then around the curved edge, add glass?
No screws, just use resin, works great. Should rabbet the edges like I mentioned earlier(basically route out the corners so that there's a bit of a slot to fit the glass)
Here's rabbeting:

i would forget the bottom part and glass the entire bottom. Line the car with plastic and use the car as a mold. You will have to make it thick, but in the end it will give you more room. And it'll be easier in my opinion.
