Hey Guys!! Anyone using the 6 1/2 or 5 1/4 coaxial speakers???? I stoped at this shop today and the guy had these. They looked Sweet with the carbon fiber. How do they sound???? Now I am thinking of going with these both front and back. No componets. trying to save some $$$$ for other Mods

Try ebay! You can probably get them a lot cheaper. Memphis is a good company not sure about speakers.

I am just the guy with the answer.

I run all Memphis M-class equipment in my car. My brother drives an xB with the exact same stero setup, and my sister-in-law has a very similair setup with different sized speakers.

M-Class 75X2 Amplifier
M-Class 50X4 Amplifier
M-Class 6.5" Components
M-Class 4" Coaxials
M-Class 5.25" Coaxials
M-Class 10" Subwoofer

I have been very pleased with the sound in my car. The quality is awesome. I have run some MB Quarts and Diamonds in the past and IMO, Memphis has beat them both. Their PR (Power Reference) line is so-so, nothing to brag about, but I would definitely spend the money and get the M-Class speakers. You will not regret it.

Also, DO NOT BUY THEM ONLINE. Memphis Car Audio has strict policies to keep their products off of the internet. Check http://www.memphiscaraudio.com/salespolicy.asp.They will not honor any warranty on any product bought off of the net.

Wow that's why I don't see to much stuff on e-bay
Ok what I was going to be doing is installing some Alpine type s comp or Infinity Ref comp with a matching 5 1/4 in back. But now that I seen these I really like the carbon fiber look. Do you think that a pair of 6 1/2 front and the 5 1/4 in back with a single 10" sound good. My amps are Alpine V-power 50 X 4 for highs and a 140 X 1 for sub Thanks for the help!!!!!

As with anything in car audio it all comes down to preference. I am very happy with my setup in the box. I have teh same size speakers as you saw. However I came from a previous truck with 2 12" Crossifre subs in a large ported box in the bed of my truck running off a 1000W class D amplifier, but I was done with all the bass.

Now, my 10" and Memphis setup is exactly what I was after. I listen to a lot of rock and reggae to it sounds fantastic. Not tons of bass, but rather a good fill of bass. I didn't originally plan on running 4" speakers in the dash until a few months later and my brother put them in his box. I listened to his and had to have them. I then added them to my car and love the sound they produce. It puts the stage up kind of high in the fron though so the "surround-sound" type feel is a little off.

But in the end it is all what you like. I am sure you will be pleased with the setup you are plannning on.

get components get components get components..... the sound available with components outweighs the price difference from the coax's invariably....

memphis speakers are great.
the mclass coaxials (with the inline crossover) scream. they play very loud and clear, but dont expect a lot of midbass.
the MCSYNC components are my favorite. excellent clear highs and the best midbass i've ever heard from a 6.5" speaker. not quite as efficient as the mclass coaxials.
the MCSQ components are nice sounding speakers also. i just dont like that they are less efficient and have smaller coils and break up a lot sooner. they are good speakers, but not nearly as good as the MCSYNC at high volumes
