Default Mobile Wi-Fi?

Is it possible to get Wi-Fi in your car?? (Not while driving, of course) I'd like to be able to access the internet from my laptop or iPod Touch from my car without having to search for a connection.

There are systems out there that do it, but they aren't cheap.

Some schools are actually testing it in school buses too. Pretty good idea IMO.

Another option would be to look into a Mifi thing from Verizon or Sprint (if you already have a cell phone with them). If you sign up for their Mobile Broadband plan, the Mifi will give you wifi whereever it picks up cell service.

Is this just for your phone? I have SPRINT, but I also am already able to access the internet on my phone wherever I go.

Well it doesn't work through your phone... the Mifi device acts as the "phone" in terms of receiving the cell signal and then acts as a wireless router to share the connection.

Note however, that the Mifi is like $100 or more and the broadband plans to go with them are usually $50-60 / month. Not cheap. But it may be cheaper than that other option.

I think I'd rather just bay the $399 at BEST BUY for the Auto Router. I think after awhile, the $100 + $50/$60 per month can really start to add up. I'd rather just pay all at once instead of monthly.
Good to know though.

I use my cell for internet access. Phone as modem. I have sprint unlimited 450mins. costs me 70 bucks a month. Only thing I had to buy was a $30 program.
