THANKS, i still have to inclose the underside. anybody got any ideas of what to use? i was thinking fiberglass. i want to enclose the bottom of the cover instead of trying to seal where the rear tire used to sit. that way i can remove it in one piece. thanks

hey good job man ... i was going to so something similar to that but i just bought a small bass tube instead, Which really pounds hard and has good air flow due to the hatchback. and also i wanted to keep my spare. But overall, i like the way your setup is. I say put neons on each side of the panels and add a layer of fiberglass over everything. That way whenever you need to lay something in your trunk you dont have to worry about anything hitting your speakers and damaging them !

 

Do you have something to protect the top of the speakers, you know, from junk fallin in them?

no they are unprotected. fortunatly, i do not use the back for anything

Nice work! you can squeeze more airspace out of fiberglass... but mdf is less messy but harder to get around the dips curves etc... ...

 

why not just get some free-air subs so you don't have to worry about enclosing them at all? just power them up with something strong.

I had taken out my spare to save weight (i know its dumb) then i hit a fatty pothole and exploded my tire. Luckily, my friend lived nearby who also has an xb, and he loaned me his spare.
