Default Mounting Component Speakers

Okay...so I bought some Momo Polk MM6 Component Speakers. The problem I am having is mounting them as the back speakers in my TC so they can fit. The speakers are 6 1/2 but they still sit up on one side Any ideas on what can be done to mount them? Any speaker kits available?

Most likely will have to make an MDF spacer. I had to make 2, 1 set for the fronts and 1 set for the rears. I do believe circuit city does sell toyota/scion adapter platers but there plastic and generic so i'm not sure if they fight 100%.

I used a saw to make the space big enough for the speaker to fit. It's mounted on good now.

Awesome choice in speakers, are you going to amp them? I had 2 set's of those compnents in my old neon b4 I drive her into a ditch and she blew up... ='''( I found that momo speakers work best with momo amp's and pioneer decks, should be a match made in heaven, can't wait to get my tC.

Are polk momos any good? Have always "heard" that stuff that looks good (audiobahn chromed out flames), (polk momo bright yellow and red) usually looks better than it sounds. But, I'm definately not an expert, Just never heard them.

I wouldnt buy anything else, Ive had everything from xplodes, to infiniti, to pionoer, even audio bahn and alpine. with the right amp, Momo's are the hardest hiting, clearest sounds audio equipment you can buy. MM6 Components run about $300, and are worth every penny.

I use to work at Fry's electronics, they were 300 retail and with my discount I got them for 150 each, and the amp for 150 as well.

Apparently you're knowledge of car audio is very limited to Best Buy and Circuit City.

These speakers can be had for under $200 on cardomain.com or ebay. They are great speakers for the budget minded consumer who wants some quality. But in reality they don't hold a candle to what's out there.

Here are my old speakers in my Honda:

They probably cost more than your rims and look better to boot.

Dont; be so hard on the guy. I argree with you though, Best Buy and CC are ok for your basic listener. But when it comes to good speakers Polk Momo's definately are not.

VtScionGuy beautiful Tru amp you have there. Were your rainbows worth the money? If thats your Lincoln what are running in there now?

I just get ancy when people spread false information. What if it were me who was new and relied upon that information and it failed me.

The Tru amp and the Platinums were the best I have yet to own. Worth the money is well, depends on your state in life, LOLS.

The speakers I'd have to say were over priced, but not compared to people dishing out so much for the MB QSD's and such. Use to own the Utopias and that price difference is not worth it.

The amp just has so much POWA, CLEAN POWA! Put it up next to a Brax or Zapco and that Tru will walk over it.

Just traded in the Lincoln for the xB. Both have enough storage space for what I need. I wanted the xB in the first place but everyone was like it's so boxy, blah blah blah. Turns out the money I save on gas now pays for the xB! You have go to imagine how much money people driving those things make!!!!!
