I just installed my edi 6000s and I forgot about the window... my spacers aren't thick enough so the windows hit the speakers. Doh! Easy enough to fix but you do need to worry about mounting depth when figuring out how thick you need your spacers.

HAHAHA.......that was good fuji........

any 6.5" mid that you would get in a component set will fit with a 3/4" MDF spacer........

if it doesn't: then the speaker doesn't need to be in the door...it needs to be in a kick panel with a certain amt of air space....

Just a thought. Does anyone know if it's possible to mount speakers in the back passanger doors of the XB? How about mounting some 6x9's in the rear hatch/door of the XB?

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. I want to put some speakers in the two rear doors, it would help on sound quite a bit...

My speakers are 2.8 inches deep and barely clear with a 3/4" MDF spacer. Also I had to trim the door panel so the grill would fit on.

It looks like my speakers are about 2.75", would I still need to trim the door panel with a 3/4" spacer?

you are not really trimming the door panel itself, there isa ring that I guess holds the grill rigid, but with almost any speaker other than stock you will need to trim down to get the door panel to snap back on at the bottom.

When you see the inside of the door panel you will see.

It is not a major issue.

I wish I took pics of it when I had the door apart 2 weeks ago.
