i was looking at the loaded packages at woofers etc and i really am liking the setups on there with the mtx speakers. can someone please explain the levels of quality in the these, like which models are economic to best? its between these and some cvr 12's

 

if you look at the model number, it'll tell you which subwoofer is in the enclosure. They say SLH-T????

the first 2 numbers represent the sub series:
45= 4500
55= 5500
75= 7500
85= 8500
95= 9500

each series is better in some way than the previous series. The economy/intro line is the 4500 with the 5500 not too much better. The middle/good line is the 7500 and the powerful lines are the 8500 and 9500 where the 9500 is in the "superwoofer" category (much like JL's W7 line, only not quite as good IMO)...

the next 2 numbers in the model represent the size of woofers. "SLH-T8515-D" represents a 8500 series 15" sub. On some of the models, after the size there will be an "X?" in which it tells how many woofers there are in the enclosure if a multi-woofer setup.

personally, If looking at MTX, I'd go no lower than the 7500 series of subs.

I run the cvr12's and really like them BUT I have used MTX for years and they are unbreakable and give good bang for the buck much more than the JL mentioned above

 

9500 will be the best if you want to compete. However, it'll definitely take up a lot of room if the box is tuned right.
