Default My 3 way front stage and Alpine H701/C701 Setup *PICS*

I realized I have never really posted pictures of my car or latest system on this forum. I snapped a couple pics and threw them out over on icixsound (my usual hangout) and figured why not cross post over here. So for your viewing pleasure.... pictures!!!

First off, my car....

From the front:

From the Back:

That exhaust is the Borla Dual Exhaust. And I love it!!!

And from the other side

I had run it through the wash, but I did not worry about anything other than a quick rinse off.

And onto the inside.... Again, did not worry about wiping the dash off. Hell I was home sick today, not going to worry about cleaning the car (other than running it through the wash while waiting for my prescriptions).

Here is a shot showing the center console, including Alpine 9835, ipod, Alpine c701 controller, motorola IHF-1000 bluetooth handsfree, remote gain for my nine.1, and a switch for my cold cathodes (and technically my garage door opener too)

Here you can see the tweeter and mid, the tweeter integrates nicely, but the funky grill for the DLS domes sticks out like a sore thumb. Have not decided what I am going to do to address that yet.

Here is a close up of the LPG 26na tweeter mounted to the sail panel:

And a close up of the DLS Iridium 3" dome mounted to the factory speaker grill:

I stuck the h701 brain under the passenger seat. It is far enough back there to be safe from feet. Here is a pic with the seat in its normal position:

Here you can see all the excess RCA cable, from 4 pairs of RF Matrix cable:

And here is a shot with the seat all the way forward so you can see the mess o wires:

Here is the back of my sub box with my amps flushmounted. Since this picture was taken I replaced the nine.2 with another nine.4 bridged down to 4 channels.... more power, same footprint!

And here is the view from the back, 2 19ov.2's. Needless to say, it gets very loud. The box is cut for a flushmount, but the flushmount opening was just a little too small and I could not use the supplied gasket. Fixing it is on my to do list....unless I get a new substage before then.

Any feedback?

I have never really metered it. It can peg out my $20 walmart meter (maxes at 135). And it is loud enough to make my vision blurry!

I am actually thinking of downsizing, because I have a 30 minute commute, and I rarely turn them up all the way, because if I do my head hurts by the time I get home.

I am probably going to go with a Single crazy sub. elemental designs is coming out with a 13av.2 that should be INSANE. probably going to do one of those instead of the 2 18's. They were fun for a while, but not really the most practical things out there!

How do you like the LPG's. I'm currently running a Boston Rally setup and I am considering doing a different active 2-way setup up front. I was looking at the Seas CA18RNX and the 27 something metal dome tweeter. Mark

The entire box amp and subs in the back is probably somewhere around 250-400 lbs. As you can see in the pictures the rear sits a little low. The next purchase I am going to buy are some airlift bags to go inside the coils and raise it back up to stock height, and then some of the monro sensatracs to smooth out the ride. Should help me keep the tailpipes off the ground, as it is if I have a passenger in the back and back out of a driveway, I have to be REALLY careful.

The Bluetooth is FANTASTIC, probably the best mod I did to the car. incoming call mutes the radio, announces the caller (announces the number by default, or if you have it programmed as a voice dial, it repeats your voice tag). Best $250 I never spent (got it as a christmas gift).

I love the LPG tweets. I had tried a couple others, and new that a metal tweeter was for me. I had CDTs 3/4" metal tweet and did not like it at all. These are perfect, not to harsh, but wonderfully crisp. Those are staying for sure. I am considering trying another dome over the DLS simply because I do not like the grills on the DLS, and I am thinking I might like the dayton aluminum dome mids even better. Not sure though.

Hey, how's the IHF-1000? I'm thinking of getting one for my tC. Did you route it through the speakers, or did you just use the 5W speaker it comes with?

I used the speaker that came with it for better echo rejection, it works great. Only problems are if you try to use it with the windows down while driving 60 mph.

to date I still feel the ihf 1000 was the best bang for the buck I added.

Awesome. Thanks for the heads up. I'm gonna get one installed, then. My biggest worry was sound quality--I got the Motorola HS850 bluetooth headset and was disappointed in the volume while driving. It's not good at drowning out ambient road noise. Glad to hear it's not the same ____ty shound quality as Motorola's earpieces.

For me it sounds flawless, people I talk to can tell that I am on a speaker phone, but only slightly, they say it sounds like I am further away, but no major problems.
