while you have a computer, in your "car" a carputer it does not make. Anyone can put a laptop somewhere and come up with a fancy name... as in check out my new "Toiletputer" mounted right next to the toilet paper roll. :p

And wouldn't that "Toiletputer" be friggin awsome!?!?!

Good luck not getting dizzy while driving...
If you REALLY want to set it up right, here's a link for an actual carputer configuration:

I often thought of having a toiletputer... I mean, how many times have you been right in the middle of a game and had to use the rest room? Just RDC (remote desktop connect) from the computer in the toilet and continue your game.

and midtown... don't think I was dissing on you for what you have. I think it's a neat idea, especially if theft is a concern in your area. For a while, my buddies and I were wardriving every couple of weeks, so we usually had 3 or 4 laptops wired in the van for that... not even counting cantenna, GPS, and the hookup to the video system in the van to watch videos at the same time. haha

Can someone post a DIY walk-through of toilte-puter?

I gotta have one of those. Just think of all the valuable gaming / video-watching time that is lost. Plus, it is about the only place you can get any privacy when you have 2 kids runnin' around.

Pimps don't have kids... and if they do, they deny that they are their kids!

I didn't take it as a diss at all - It takes a lot to ____ me off - lol! i agree, this isnt evne a mod - but it's just pics and a description of what im doing. eventually, when i buy a house and a garage (for like 1,000,000 with the prices nowadays), then i'll consider hardwiring a computer into it.... until then, this is an awesome option. =]

l0l @ the war driving.... i've been doing that too in queens. whether hard wired desktop or laptop, having a computer in the car sure makes things much more bearable - ie - waiting outside my moms job for her to get out an hour later. lol... i can just surf the net, check emails from my girls, etc. lol!

Default Works for me, have not gotten lost yet.

I use a Sony VAIO U71P with MS Streets and Trip GPS, with an Intec car inveter, the screen is 5 inch, and I have the docking station doublesidded sticky tapped to the dash.
If I get in accident the airbag should stop it from impaling my cranium. I actually bought the xA on my 26th birthday, just so I can mount my computer directly in front of me! That and it matches (Flint Mica) my HALO suit.

These are definitely some great ideas and setups. I was thinking of putting a mac mini into my xa, but i'm still undecided. I don't really use my car enough to justify it. But it would be pretty cool. I recently did a search and came up with some great sites where people have integrated computers into their scions.

I could not have said it better myself! no seriously - this is the reason (or one of the many supporting reasons) why i did not install a desktop or hardwire a "carputer" into my scion. As i said in an earlier post, i see my car on weekends only - like friday nights to about sunday, mid-day... i CAN hard wire a computer into my car (i have 15+ desktops and 3 laptops in my apartment) which i can easily use but, as Bubble said, I do not use my car enough to justify having a dedicated computer...

I hope you dont mind me biting off your reason....

Update:

I bought a tablet laptop to put into my scion but I can't really afford it. So I am selling it now.

It is a 3 pound - VERY high end - IBM x41 tablet laptop. It is touch screen, has wireless internet, 1.5 ghz centrino chip, 512 megs of ram and 60 gigs of disk space. This thing is even better than my desktop but I can't afford it so I'm selling it.

I've put it in the classified section of this board if anyone is interested.

hehe - i saw that on news.com earlier... the tablet is awesome because it has a fullsize keyboar - i can use it like a regular laptop and when it's in the car, i can just use it in tablet mode... i am still working on a mount for the thing though....

im not technically inclined to fabricate stuff so this is gonna be a lil hard for me... hehe...

Umm why dont you just get the NtriGo in car computer? You know... the computer system that Freddy has in his xA?

http://www.importtuner.com/features/...on/index1.html

Wouldnt it just be easier?

That requires hard-wiring a computer into my pc - which im not going to do since im in nyc. Too many jealous and poor people would break into it. I'm keeping my xB stock - bone stock - because of where i live. i dont have a garage either. That setup looks hot as hell though.

Muhahahahahahhaha! so they do make one for your toilet! sweet! hahaha...

Instead of "Hey honey, I'm heading to the bathroom..." you can now say "Honey, I'm gonna go surf the John!"

muhahahahaha!
