I don't know if this is the right section or not and I've used the search... but can't find the info I need.

I'll be recieving my AVIC-D1 nav system tomarrow and with a skilled friend were going to install it ourselves. My question is to others who have installed a nav themselves. Do you have any pointers or lessons learned, things to look out for? and where did you put the gps reciever/antennae?

I can't help you, but would you mind taking pictures of the install and maybe giving some future installers some pointers? Im looking into this unit and would love to see a pic of it in a tC and how you like it.

sorry to say i broke down and got it professionally installed. They were havein a half off install sale. i couldnt resist, installed for only 50 bucks. sweeet. ill post some pics later on today.
