I have heard of the PIE ones. But does anyone know how to find the Metra AIPTY02ID one? Circuit city used to sell them, but now that they are going out of business they dont have them.....

My honest suggestion would be to get a new headunit. You'll get better sound, better iPod control and better integration.

 

Yeah but with 90,000 miles on the car I dont want to spend that much on it.

 

Just googled the model# and found a long list of sites that sell it for you. Honestly after working at both best buy & circuit city I'd say follow the previous recommendation about replacing the HU. You can get a Sony, Pioneer, Kenwood or probably other brands that have a dedicated iPod cable built in for about $100 these days & it can be moved to a new vehicle if necessary. The cheapest place I found for the Metra unit sold if for about $59 brand new after shipping, or you could get it for under $10 used.
