Default Need HELP!! Installing Video System

OK,

I recently installed a flip down monitor and ran the RCA's and the power wire under my passenger seat. For now I want to install a cheap yet decent way of video or playstation2/ Xbox to my headunit. How do I run the power and what accessories do I need? Someone mentioned a RF Modulator. I will try to get pics on here soon so you can better see the situation. Help !!!! :?:

to run a xbox or playstation you need a power invertor. you can get one from walmart, thats where I got mine, and its fine(don't let the name "wal mart" turn you away) it comes with a cigarette lighter plug and 2 wire that you can run to the battery. they arn't long enough though, and the cigarette thing would look bad. I just went up to best buy and got some wire, and some ends and ran the wires under the carpet and through the fire wall. the invertor sits under the driver seat and the xbox is under the other seat.

EDIT: you only need to run one through the fire wall to the battery, the other can be attached at any ground.

FM modulator will allow you to hear the sound of your dvd or game on the car speakers...it goes between your antenna and the head unit and your rca's plug into it...then you tune your radio to a set station on the modulator and you have sound...for tv reception you need a tv tuner...ive seen them on ebay for pretty cheap...i dont know about hookin them up tho

found this for ya http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...737688818&rd=1

I'm not sure about about a car dvd player, I don't think you would need an invertor if its made for the car. as far as the FM modulator, if you have an after market headunit like i do, it might have a aux input, which is what I pluged mine into. if you have a stock headunit than I don't know anything about that, listen to ltj. and a TV tuner is what you need, but you will only get the basic signals and make sure you get one that is good so you don't get a fuzzy picture.

ok thanks, the site sponsor on here has a good kit for $40 shipped, looks good and is 30W? hope that is enough wattage. I found a tight cardvd/built in tv tuner for $130 bucks on ebay. If i dont win it and get just a good tv tuner for now will i need an inverter? also i just have the stock xb headunit so i dont know what all connectors/adapters i will need for tv tuner and for the FM modulator

you won't need an invertor, unless you want xbox as well.

so if i understand correctly, the invertor is only for things like laptop, xbox, ps2, etc, things that need to be converted right? will i need a rf modulator or fm modulator? i want to run the sound through the speakers

if you have the stock headunit it sounds like you would, but I don't know anything about that unit, or the stock headunit.

and yea the invertor is for anything that has the plug that you would normally plug into the wall at your house

If your head unit doesn't have an audio in, then yes you will need a FM mod. All that thing does for example is you plug the sound wire from your Xbox and tune your stereo to 88.1 and the sound will go through that....
The inverter takes a 12V DC current and coverts it to 120V AC...Get one with at least 300 watts..
