Default Need Help with Stereo install

Hey all,

So I just installed a new pioneer headunit, two 10 in subs and a mono amp. the amp is connected to the rear rca outputs of the hu. I now find that the rear speakers are not working any longer. Is it because the amp is connect to the rear outputs of the hu bypasses the output to the rear speakers. Thanks

it shouldn't be that way.....check your fade on the HU.....also make sure you don't have subwoofer outputs available that you could use....

All that is in the rear of the hu is front and rear outputs. When I adjust the fade to the rear it sounds like everything is coming out of the subs and not the rear speakers.

Did you hook an amp up to the rear speakes? If not, did you conect the rear speakers to the speaker wires on the hu?

All the connections are made on the wiring harness, so yes the rear speakers are hooked up. The amp is connected to the rear rca outputs. I was wonder if connecting the rear rca ouputs to the amp would bypass the rear speaker connection through the wiring harness.

Have you tried pulling the RCA's and hooking them up to the front output to see if you get the same result that way? If you pull the RCA's and leave them off all together do you have all the speakers working except the sub?

In my other car I have a Kenwood hu hooked up the same way and no problem. I have never had a hu do that, but then again I haven't had every type of hu.

Alright looks like I figured it out. It was some randome FIE setting. It was turned on when it should have been off. Thanks for all the support though.

Tricky tricky internal functions ;) FIE can really help out if the car is setup correctly though
