New gauges...56k watch out
well, here is a shot of my newly installed gauges. the install isn't complete - notice the oil pressure is pegged due to not having the sender connected. hopefully I can crawl under there tonight and finish the hook up.
this is my nod to the 4x4 crowd. thanks, Randy.

Peter... your guages look great man. I can't wait to get mine in. I finally got everything I need. My LED's got here for the guages since I'm going to remove the standard bulb and replace with LED's but I looks like I won't install them til probably the weekend of the 27th due to me being out of town this coming weekend.

Hey Peterbilt!! Looking Gooood!
I really like the location and the new custom speedo to match. You didn't tell me you were going that route.
Did you remove the dash to cut the holes and install. If so I would be interested in how that went.

Nice!!!! I want to put some guages in my wife's new xb and all I've seen are the pillar mounted ones. Your's look much better. You need to give us details on the install icluding the brand and how hard it was to hook up the sending units

wow. thanks to everyone for their comments.
walt, I didn't pull the dash - I went in thru the speedo/ cluster hole. yeah, the VDO gauges are nice but bland - so I redid the speedo to even more bland and match. I painted the speedo needle orange to match the VDO's. all gauges light up orange/ amber to match all of the rest of my interior lights.
gaffman, I'm a complete enophyte on electrical and especially on gauges, but I did my homework which consisted of searching on here and post questions. bit the bullet and did it. I used VDO Cockpit White gauges and sending units ordered from egauges.com. the adapters for water temp. and oil pressure are AC Autotechnics.

The gauges look wonderful!! I wasn't going to do anything like that until I saw yours!
I was wondering, those hatch struts, are they actual Rancho pieces or did you paint them. I am looking for some that are strong enough to hold the hatch up with a subwoofer box in the hatch. Keep up the good work!!

thanks again for the comments. I owe a lot to this website and the members herein.
I'd be glad to do a write up, but the gauges are already installed - would it work w/o pics? I guess I could take pics of the aftermath...

Hey Peter I was planning on taking pictures through out the process when I install my autometer guages.
So you didn't pull your dash huh?? I was planning on pulling mine but maybe I won't have to. I take it you had to pull the speedo out and that the speedo hole was big enough to get in from behind there.
Did you ever get a wiring schematic for the xB??
