Default From No Ipod to Ipod HU

Hey everybody,
I have been a long time reader first time poster. I just bought a xb two months ago with out the ipod hookup. I didn’t see the need to because I had a dell DJ (NOT A GOOD MP3 PLAYER), and I thought it would last for at least another year or so. But anyway as you would suspect it died about a week ago. So here is my question what would be the cheapest way to have an ipod hook up in my car? I chatted with scion and they said I had to buy a whole new speaker system, steering wheel, and HU. I didn’t think that sounded right but I just wanted to run it by some people on this forum. If possible I would like to control it through the steering wheel, and to keep the standard HU, because I work in a not so safe area, and the less my car gets noticed the better.

Thanks and may God Bless

you get controls on the steering wheel? is that a new 06 thing? i actually looked into it myself, i have an 05 , all together it would be the cost of the ipod, plus about $200 for the hookup, look on this sites advertisements, there is an advertisement that ive seen with the right hookup and if you use the "scion" code u get 20% off. as well as the tech section, you dont need new speakers , you dont need new everything, the scion is xm ready ALSO ipod ready, just have to mess with a few switches in the back to tune it right, i myself havnt done this but in the tech section it shows it and says preforms with cd quality.
