Default ok... now I'm confused about Xb radios/options

Looking hard into buying an '06 Xb 5sp. One thing that is confusing me is what is optional with them. One site says the Xb comes with steering wheel controls, and an I-pod plug. Another adds mirror turn signal lights (in Jan).
Yesterday I test drove two '06's, and neither had the audio controls or the lights. Both had a 'aux' plug by the e-brake, but neither had anyother type of plug (ie. Ipod).

Are these 'left over' '05's? They sure didn't hold back on the price! ($14,540). When should the 'updated' '06's be arriving? If I'm gonna pay the inflated price, I want EVERYTHING!

I have an '06 xB...bought it in August of 2005. Mine does not have the steering wheel controls, an Ipod plugin or mirror turn signals. At the time when I bought it, the Ipod connectivity was an option. Mine does however have the aux plug by the e-brake.

Hope this helps some.

The 2006.5 models with two new colors (and two discontinued), steering wheel audio controls, new seat fabric, improved air bags and such, are in the pipeline NOW and should be arriving at dealerships shortly - a little later on the east coast than the west. The early '06s do NOT have those new features...

The iPod connection comes only with the OPTIONAL head unit - the STANDARD head unit only has an 'AUX' input in the 'center console.'

The "Early '06" xBs will still be on dealer's lots and in the pipe for awhile, so it will pay to look at the details to see which you are getting - the "Late '06" xBs also carry a $150 higher price...

Hope that helps.

thanks.. that helps alot. Not so sure the options are worth $150 to me! I'll just have to get them down to what most are paying (or some other accessories). I got a quote of 14240 from a different dealer, but that still seems high (isn't the base MSRP lower?)

Anyway... getting off subject. Happy new year!

Sounds like you need a better job or something.

Tomas is right about the options available. from what I have seen here in TX is if you bought your xB before december your a probably going to get a standard 2006 model....but if you got it after that time you should get the 2006.5 model which does have a few extras.

joffficer, they aren't really "options" since it's an actual mid-year production change. Once the older ones are gone, you will have no choice but to get the newer version at the higher standard price...

Picked up my '06 Camo Xb... and yep it was built before December. No Audio controls. No problem, though. I think they look kind'a cheap on the wheel... not to mention the radio is so close it seems a little silly to spend $150 on it.

Love the car, though! 14240 (Plus tax... I did my own tags/title work). I even got a free key chain
