Default Painting interior parts

I am thinkin about painting some interior parts on my TC. I am thinkin about paintin the trim piece around the stereo and center console. ( which is a brushed aluminum look from factory) The door pieces in back of the lock, the 2 vents on each side of dash and 2 window defrosters on each side of dash and the intrument panel cluster. I am going to go silver to match the exterior/interior colors. Any ideas or thoughts about this. And if anyone has done so and had pics would be interested in seeing them

paintscratch.com

thats where i got mine from in spray cans. thought they were very good. 1st batch of paint as a little too rust looking so i just had to send my swatch spray card back to them & they sent a 2nd batched that matched perfectly!!! got to keep the 1st can, even though the color was off, for fun painting!

Jennay, you did the interior stuff yourself. I am inspired now, but nervous to do it myself in case I f**k it up. What exactly did you buy from that site? How long did it take you to do?

purchased from the site paint in spray can & clear coat. went to hardware store & bought sandpaper & some painters tape. took the plastics out of my box very carefully, sanded off the light gray factory paint, wiped all parts with rubbing alcohol & taped up areas that werent going to get painted & lightly sprayed. took all day but worth it. once completely dry waxed the parts & put them all back very carefully :D

Hey Mike, how'd you get the vents out of the dash that are close to the doors? Was it a hassle? One complaint I have with the interior is so much BLACK. That;s why I put a blue carbon fiber kit in there. I'd like to get the vents painted. Center ones look simple, the others look tough,

to pop out center console you have to be careful to not crack it because it is all one large yet thin piece of plastic with screws behind the *****. just be careful & see instrucions posted above

Well most of paint work is done for now. Just gotta get the pieces on the doors where the handle/lock is.. I cant get them out without them feeling like there gonna break!!!

Will get pics as soon as I get to take some.. Kinda debating the color still also..

I was thinkin the same exact thing. I made some photoshops of some ideas. Hope they show up.

I know not a lotta people like green, but deal with it. Plus itl match my Wet Okole seat covers that i ordered.

Anyway i figured the best way to do this would be to order a silver dash overlay kit and paint the parts whatever color you want.

Or the hard way, but cheaper, take out your center console, mask, and paint[/img]
