For what?

Speakers: Rainbow
Subs: RE, Adire, Focal
Amps: Brax, Helix, US amps, Tru Tech.
Source Units: Denon, Nakamichi, Eclipse

Best reasonably priced would be CDT, Alpine/Pioneer Premier/Kenwood Excelon,

Boston is good. Alittle bright.

I forgot to mention JL. They make great stuff, but I'm not a huge fan since I like other brands for less money. Friend took a set of JL XR components next to a basic pair of CDT components, and sold the JLs right afterwards. The CDTs just blew them away.

My current system is CDT euro-carbon with upgrade silk tweets and crossovers, pioneer 860 premier headunit, Cadence 100x2 amp for speakers, cadence 750x1 amp for a CDT HD 12" sub. Good budget setup. Everything I think cost $1300 or so.

Hey thanks, that only makes me more dangerous than the next guy.

Speakers more so than electronics are personal preference, if they do not sound good to you they are simply not worth a plum nickel. Does not make them bad speakers just not your cup of tea.

No one said mobile audio was difficult or expensive and 1 G should get you well within the ball park.

I have very similar setup. Got the CDT EF61s with upgraded 560satnet. Got a Soundstream Van Gogh 100x2 amplifier, but by christmas will get the Van Gogh 150x2. CDT is one of the best speakers I have ever had and I've have alot. Very laid back sound and not to in your face like Boston or Diamond. Had JL XR series about 2 years ago not bad speakers but the CDT definately sound better.

There are tons of good brands. I don't know why most people like junk. Once you hear some good stuff, there is simply no competition.

Focals are amazing. Dynaudios are a close second from what I've heard. I don't like MBQ, but they aren't bad if you like their sound. Morel, DSL, ID all make great speakers also.

Another brand I like is Oz.

Sucks though. For the price of Best Buy or CC brands you can find some good deals on the internet for alot better quality stuff. Probably has to do with lack of knowledge, nothing wrong with that though.
