Pics of my Camo xB with Neo Car Jukebox MP3
Well I've had my xB for a few weeks now and finally got my first modification done today - the installation of the Neo Car Jukebox that I pulled from my old 96 Civic when I traded it in on the xB. Daryll's Car Audio in Depew, NY did the install and did a good job. We only ran into one problem when the USA Spec DF-TOY aux adapter I got from Crutchfield didn't have the adapter for newer Toyota head units with the 12 pin mini connector. So I'm sending that back to Crutchfield (I called and they said they didn't have the adapters), and picked up one from Circuit City that did have the adapter.
I had Daryll's just run the wired remote into the storage box so I could keep it concealed. I was going to mount the whole din adapter and remove the door, but decided that keeping it hidden was more important. But it wasn't very convenient to change tracks and see what was going on without the LCD facing outwards, so I modded the din adapter to fit inside the compartment (aka ez bake oven), allowing the door to close and leaving room for the wireless remote or whatever else I want to toss in there.
Enough with the talking, here's the pics. Enjoy:

Just an outside drivers side view of my xB

Passenger side

Center console with the oven door closed

Check out what's cookin!

A closer look at the wired remote

The Neo Car Jukebox installed under the passenger side seat. Rear seat passengers can see what song is playing too.

With the flash off, the LCD under the passenger seat glows.

A flash-off view of the wired remote.

I updated the firmware on my MP3 player the other day. SSI released the source to the firmware and started the Open Neo project so users could produce their own software for the player. One of the new features is the ability to customise your startup screen so I whipped up some ASCII art for it:

Other recent mods:
JDM No Smoker's Box:

BTW, does anyone know how you're supposed to put on that little "No Smoking" sign that comes with it? I figured out the rest of the install despite the Japanese instructions, but the No Smoking sign looks like it's supposed to pop up or something?
Also put on a bug deflector:

I'd like to take off the white AVS logo on that - anyone know an easy way to do that?
