Default Pillar gauge pod on eBay, any good?

Ok, had the xB less than 2 weeks, already want a gauge set. Hate only having RPM & idiot lights.

I've seen a few on eBay, that all fit into a neat looking pod that fits near the windshield. Any luck with these? I'd rather spend a few $ on good stuff.

Here's one:

I don't know ____ about installing this stuff, probably get the garage next door to do it for me. I can trust them.

I bought my gauge pod from glow shift. I would assume the stuff on ebay is not of that much higher quality.

But those gauges look HORRIBLE.

Glow shift isnt top of the line, but mine work great. Their customer service is GREAT too. Air/fuel gauge had problems, they fixed within 2 weeks and I had a new one.

In my opinion, I dont think any pillar will fit awesome. Mine's a little crooked, but i scrutinize it.....in fact ill trade you for your stock A pillar straight up.

But I would stay away from those gauges and the pillar.

Installation is easy also, glow shift has great service that way too. I hooked mine up myself and they work great.

So are you saying Glowshift is good, the other one junk? You go backand forth saying good then bad then good again...

ya, I have a problem with offering a rock solid opinion.

What i will say is I am NOT happy with how the A-pillar pod fits, and I don't think any pod will fit perfect. I paid for the CF look pillar from glowshift, mind you it's not a horrible fit, but I don't like it. I would personally stay away from the pillar pods all together.

But, Glowshift's gauges are great. Good price, good function, great customer service. I will probably be buying 2 more gauges from them in the next few months.

What i would do is get a few gauges from them, then mount them either on the dash or in the oven door, which is what im working on right now.

and I realy would not trust those gauges on ebay. I dont think they look as good as glowshifts, plus they are just way to cheap, quality had to have been sacrificed somewhere. Glowshift was the cheapest I could find without going autometer.

Now I get it. Glowshift GAUGES are good, the pod not so much. Much clearer, thanks. Guess I'll keep looking.

or jump on this offer from jondutch "In my opinion, I dont think any pillar will fit awesome. Mine's a little crooked, but i scrutinize it.....in fact ill trade you for your stock A pillar straight up. "

The pillar might not be bad or fit funny in your opinion, he did say that he scrutinizes it.

If you like it, then you would have more money to purchase even better gauges. If you don't like it, you would only be out a stock A pillar cover that you could trade some one for a stock one again.
Another option would be the two gauge pod that sits on top of the steering column, Those look pretty good , in my opinion
Good luck with your search.

I thought it was a good deal, but he doesn't want to end up with a messed up a pillar.

Killing time before a NYE party, I saw a few of these. Any experience here?
