Default Pioneer Headunit Question - DEH-P780MP vs. DEH-P7800MP

im totally new in the car audio world and i want a new head unit. i was in best buy last night and was playing around with the pioneer DEH-P7800MP
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...147601,00.html

and i sort of liked it. all the fancy screensavers and color stuff caught my eye for sure. so i go to check it out on pioneers site today and there is a link that says: if you like this model check out the premier. so i follow that link to this:

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...159491,00.html

they look similar and i cant really tell the difference. i have heard of pioneer premier stuff before for sure but whats the difference? the msrp is the same for both and i dont really get it.

if anybody could lead me in the right direction i would really appreicate it.

thanks for all you do!

it appears that the first model is compatible with the ipod interface that pioneer sells, the second is not, but the second unit has 2 year warrenty, both models appear to have aux jack in back and possibly in front... thata what i got after a 2 min skim of both descriptions, i could be wrong i didn't read too closely.

i upgraded to the pioneer in dash dvd and just so you know if you want the steering wheel controls to work you'll have to get an adapter for them. and if you already have an ipod interface on your scion the new head unit won't work. you'll have to get another adapter for it too. $50 bucks a piece though compared to the old bulky adapters that were over $100.

780 is the Premier line-2 year warranty with gold-plated RCA jacks.
7800 is the Pioneer line- 1year warranty with silver-plated RCA jacks.
Personally I used to reccomend going with the Pioneer at your local Best Buy with their 4 year service plan and come out almost even but it's guaranteed to work for 4 years.
