power inverter for x-box
Get around 130-140 watts CONTINUOUS power. The Xbox consumes appx. 125w from what I have read, so go with atleast 130w continuous and you should be good. I'm gonna be doing the same thing soon with a modded xbox hard wired underneath my front seat and installing two 7" visor monitors. Let us know how it goes!
I just bought a 300 watt power inverter for installing my Xbox in my RS3. Go to Pep Boys (If their is one around you). They have a 300 watt one which will work perfect for your Xbox, for around 30 bucks, cant go wrong.
ya - I say go biggest as possible - are you gonna power a TV / CRT / flatscreen monitor or just some small LCD? VCR? DVD player?
If you're gonna REALLY use it for hours on end - I'd get a pretty strong beefy one. And if you mount it, cooling could be an issue... it needs breathing room, and if you really hammer it I'd mount a 120mm PC case fan as well.
and I'd hard wire it, I wouldn't plug it into the cig lighter..... I made that socket thing so hot it melted the dash area in another car I have...
put it on a relay and a switch, and fuse it.
I had one from RadioShack that was the 99 dollar one - it lasted a couple of years worth of camping and road trips... we'd play a VCR, a 13" TV, or a playstation, or whatever.

I always double the needed wattage. if you need 125 watts, get a 250 watt inverter. personally I have a 800 watt inverter, the reason why is that is the only one I found that would not induce noise through my wireless headphones. I used a 200 watt one, and a 400 watt one and both of those created noise. the 800 watt one is noiseless and works great.
OR you could just skip using an inverter altogether and just keep it DC to DC all the way through by buying a new custom powersupply specially made for a car.
Talk to the guys over at Llamma, they havem! Not sure on price tho. Check this thread out: http://forums.llamma.com/viewtopic.php?t=3576
Hope this helps!
